Leadership Transition at GAIP

Following a review of GAIP's future strategy, the GAIP Board and CEO John Maroney have mutually agreed that he will step down from his CEO role on 17 March 2025. The search for a new CEO will commence soon.

GAIP Chairman Yoshi Kawai expressed his appreciation: “On behalf of GAIP, I extend our sincere gratitude to John for his leadership and contributions. Under his guidance, GAIP has strengthened its position as a trusted platform for collaboration. We wish him every success in his next chapter".

Reflecting on his tenure, John Maroney shared: “It has been a privilege to serve as GAIP's CEO and to work alongside a dedicated team and partners. I am proud of what we have achieved in advancing the insurance industry's role in addressing protection gaps and building risk resilience across Asia. I look forward to seeing GAIP continue its vital work in the years ahead.”

During this transition, Deputy CEO Ms. Min Cheng will assume the role of interim CEO from 18 March 2025 until a new CEO is appointed.

We thank John for his leadership and look forward to working closely with all our stakeholders as GAIP enters its next phase of growth and impact.
