The rapid advancements of scientific and technological innovations have significant implications for the insurance industry, with the potential to radically change how insurance works in the future. In light of this, we are pleased to launch the NTUxGAIP Sci-Tech Talk Series. This series is designed for insurance professionals focusing on scientific and technological innovations that can drive growth in emerging markets. These talks will be delivered by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) researchers on the latest scientific and technological advancements. While the topics are not specific to insurance, discussions will centre on how these innovations foster growth by enhancing efficiency and sustainability and creating new business opportunities.
In the first of this series, we are honoured to invite Professor Joseph Y Sung, Dean of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU, to present on "AI For Medicine: Transforming Healthcare through Artificial Intelligence".
In this talk, Professor Joseph Sung will explore the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on modern healthcare, from improving diagnostic accuracy to personalising treatment plans and enhancing patient outcomes. AI technologies have rapidly advanced, enabling significant breakthroughs in medical imaging, predictive analytics, and automated processes within clinical settings. Professor Sung will discuss real-world applications of AI in medicine including how to build trust and enhance acceptance of using AI in health-related decision. He will also address the potential implications of these advancements in ethical, social and legal aspects. Regulatory and governance of using AI tools in clinical management of patients will also be discussed.
