Project Manager

Who we are

The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) is an innovative tripartite partnership between academia, insurance supervisors, and the insurance industry in Asia. Our vision is to create a more resilient future. We do this through:

  • catalysing action on emerging and accelerating risks; and
  • supporting the future development needs of the sector.

We are a growing team of high-energy professionals, keen to have a positive impact on how Asia addresses emerging and accelerating risks such as pandemics, climate related risks, and ageing societies while also supporting innovation.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and drive the successful delivery of a risk platform project, a two-year initiative with the potential for renewal based on platform sustainability. This individual will manage the project lifecycle and ensure efficient Agile processes, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and keeping a strategic focus on platform relevance for all users.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Coordination & Agile Facilitation: Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), manage the product and sprint backlogs, and work with diverse development teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of project components.
  • Business Analysis & Requirement Definition: Gather, document, and refine business requirements from multiple stakeholders, translating complex needs into actionable development tasks for the platform, which consists of a risk database, a risk assessment tool and a knowledge repository.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication with stakeholders, including insurers, regulators, and policymakers, capturing feedback and aligning project goals with stakeholder needs.
  • Platform Development Oversight: Collaborate closely with vendors and technical teams to oversee platform hosting, development, and integration, especially with GIS and mapping technologies, knowledge commons, and data visualisation features.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage relevant risks associated with the project to ensure continuity, mitigate potential issues, and adapt to evolving project demands.

What you bring

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of project management experience in a relevant field (insurance, risk management, or regulatory environments), with proven expertise in Agile project management, preferably with certification as a Scrum Master.
  • Strong business analysis skills with experience in collecting and translating requirements for complex digital or risk management platforms.
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder engagement, particularly across public and private sectors in a multicultural, international context.
  • Technical familiarity with cloud-based platforms, GIS applications, and API integrations for data-rich environments.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a high level of initiative.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Also

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services sector in Asia, particularly Singapore, is preferred.
  • Singapore citizen or permanent resident preferred.
